Nezu Shrine

This historic shrine is said to have been founded about 1,900 years ago by Japan Takeson. There is the "Otome Inari Shrine", which is known for the benefits of matchmaking, and the bright vermilion "Senbon Torii". It is also known as the venue for the Bunkyo Azalea Festival, and every year in mid-April, 3,000 azaleas of about 100 species bloom in the temple grounds. It is a shrine loved by literary giants such as Natsume Soseki and Mori Ogai.
